Humans have had a huge impact on this Earth and its ecosystems. We can't do anything to take back what we have done, but there's a lot we can do moving forward.

Unfortunately, Peru is not an exception to this. Thankfully, much of the Andes mountains remains in its original state which supports a a good amount of Peru's biodiversity.

Worse, however, is the planned damming of Peru's rivers. This would have a hugely negative effect of the aquatic biodiversity in the area along with the land animals because of the construction of power plants and power lines that would need to come with it.

The associated damage that could occur with the building of this dam would be monumental including, but not limited to the displacement or loss of 139 species of plants, 50 species of amphibians, 203 kinds of birds, and 25 species of medium to large animals including the jaguar.
